Barbara is the President of the New England Christian Arts Council and the creator / event coordinator of their annual visual and performance arts festival.

Barbara studied art and modern at Bennington College, and Dance New Amsterdam, as well as collaborating with Stephanie Powell, a recognized ballet and modern choreographer for the Alvin Ailey School, and the Sasha Soreff Dance Theatre in NYC. Barbara has also performed on a professional level, touring Massachusetts with the company, Ballet Magnificat.

In addition to her dance credits, Barbara is also an accomplished artist, and has been awarded grants for dance and art from the Maine Arts Commission, The Portland Partnership, and Partners in Learning (PAL), and shows her work in several national and international galleries.

Her understanding of dance and visual art lead her to many international venues as an expert speaker on the connection between the arts and healing.

Barbara feels that dance is a moving and emotional meditation. Working both dance and visual art together strengthens her expression on both the conscious and subconscious levels.
