NORTHEAST ACADEMY OF DANCE APRIL 2008 NEWSLETTER ~ WINDHAM REGISTER EARLY FOR NEXT SEASON & SAVE!! Registration for next season’s classes will begin on Monday, May 5. This Special Promotion is for current students and their immediate families ONLY. A tuition increase for next season will go into effect on June 1st. By registering between May 5 and June 1, parents will be assured their child will be able to dance in his or her favorite dance class next season at this season’s tuition prices.
By pre-paying before June 1st you will be able to lock in one, two or more months at this season’s prices. You can also still pay for a full year and STILL receive 10% off the total!! For further information, ask Mary Kay or Michelle. A non-refundable Registration Fee of $15 will still apply during early registration.
2008-2009 DANCE SCHEDULE By now most of you have had a chance to look over our next season’s dance schedule. Next year we’ll be offering some new classes (i.e.: Just-4-Boys Hip Hop, Mommy & Me, Adult Tap, Adv. Teen Hip Hop). We’re returning to some of the “originals “ (i.e.: Combo I, II (Ballet & Tap) & Combo III (Ballet & Jazz)) and we’ve kept some of this season’s favorites: Musical Theater and Cheer-Dance. We’ve also expanded our Saturday Schedule to include Beg. Jazz, Beg. Tap, Hip-Hop-4-Kids and Street Funk. If you haven’t seen it . . . CHECK IT OUT!! And, don’t forget to sign up early and save!!
SUMMERDANCE 2008 During the week of Monday, July 28-Friday, Aug. 1, Northeast Academy of Dance will offer week-long half-day camps for dancers ~ ages 3-7 and 8-12 years. SUPER STARS!! Morning Session ~ 9–12 noon Kids 3-7 years Super Stars Camp curriculum will include 45 minutes each Ballet/Movement ~ Jazz-4-Kids ~ Tumbling ~ Art & Dance INSTRUCTOR: Sara Demers

1 Camp Tuition: $125 Per Week/Per Session. 2 A 25% non-refundable deposit is required at time of registration. 3 Balance is due two weeks prior to camp. 4 A 5% discount for a second child in the immediate family is available. 5 Registration Forms can be found at the studio.
SPRING PEEK WEEK Peek Week for parents will be held during the week of Monday, May 19-Saturday, May 24. Most costumes will have been received and the parents, students and teachers can discuss how they will be worn during the show. Dancers will also be performing their recital routine.
ORDER YOUR RECITALTIGHTS MOST recital costumes will require tights. Orders for Recital Tights are now being taken for CAPEZIO Footed Supplex Tights. The quality of these tights is unmatched by any other label and the kids will be wearing them well into next season. CHILD SIZES are available in two sizes: 2-6 and 8-12 PRICE: $13 ea COLORS: Ballet Pink /Suntan ADULT SIZES are S/M and L/X (correspond to A/B and C/D) PRICE: $15 ea COLORS: Ballet Pink/Suntan Pick up an order form at the desk! GET IN SHAPE FOR SUMMER! DITCH THE WORKOUT . . . JOIN THE ZUMBA PARTY!! Zumba is now being held on Tuesday and Thursday at 7 pm. Parents who have students enrolled in NEAD can take class for just $5!! It’s time to start thinking about feeling good about wearing summer shorts and tank tops!! Dinah will keep you moving and having fun!!
ADULT TAP IS CONTINUING!! We’re excited!! Everyone loves Sarah Hamm’s Adult Tap class on Tuesday night at 6 pm so we’re going to keep it going for another 6 weeks. Come join us!! NO PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!! We’re working toward getting a group of interested adult tappers to have fun and enjoy a great workout!!
RECITAL DATES Northeast Academy of Dance’s performance, “The Color of Dance,” will be held on Saturday, June 21, 1 & 5 pm, at Gorham Performing Arts Center. Dress Rehearsal will be held on Friday, June 20th. More information about those schedules will be forthcoming.
ADRENALINE DANCE COMPANY Dancers on the Jr. and Sr. Company Teams are looking forward to competing this April in Gorham and South Portland. On April 19, Seniors will compete in the DEA Regional Competition which will be held at Gorham HS. The following weekend, April 26, both teams will compete in the Dancer’s Inc. Competition at South Portland HS. And, on May 3, the Junior team will compete in the Turn It Up Dance Challenge at Gorham HS. Admission to watch the competition is FREE. Come support our team members who have worked so hard this season!!
ADRENALINE COMPANY AUDITIONS Dancers who are interested in auditioning for the Adrenaline Jr. or Sr. companies can join us at the studio on Monday, July 7th. Jr. Team tryouts (dancers ages 7 – 12 years) will be held from 5 – 6:30 pm. Sr. Team tryouts (dancers 13+) will be held from 6:45 – 8:30 pm.
This year’s Jr. & Sr. Adrenaline Company members have worked tirelessly each week to improve their dancing skills . Sr. Company’s Viki Perreault and Jr. Company’s Elizabeth Glendenning produced two teams that Northeast Academy of Dance can be very proud of.
Requirement information will be available closer to audition dates. Parents and/or dancers who are interested in trying out for the team and want more information can contact Michelle at 838-3828. |
